Email is one of the biggest ways our churches can reach out and engage our members and community. I wanted to create a list of email services that I've used, maybe it will help your church make a better decision the next time you're looking to switch email services.
I know I'm missing some big ones, so drop them in the comment thread!
Constant Contact
I know lots of churches use this email service. I've used it extensively myself and found it to be very decent. It's kind of your run-of-the-mill email service.
Pros:
User friendly
Customer Service
Price
Cons:
Limited automation
Limited plain text features
Not ideal for drip campaigns
Mailchimp
It is by far the most well-known, I think. However, every time I use it, I feel let down. It feels clunky and really unintuitive. After using Constant Contact's user-friendly editor, Mailchimp doesn't compare.
Pros:
Integrations
Delivery rate
Cons:
Complicated layout
Limited automation
MailerLite
This is the service I currently use for all of my business newsletters and automated email chains. I really like the user friendly automation feature and that you can create plain html emails. I will say I have had a bit of frustration with certain bugs but overall a great, cheap, email service.
Pros:
Automation
User friendly
Website embed forms
Price
Cons:
Buggy at times
Limited integrations
I've also heard great things about Kit, though it's a bit more expensive, it might be another option to check out.
